Support Black Owned Businesses in Venice, FL
With everything happening around our country and the world, the best thing we can do right now is to support our brothers and sisters in the black community. I would love to highlight these businesses owned by our strong black men and women that live both locally and in shops you can purchase from online. It’s so important that their voices are heard and allowing them to shine at this time will give them the platform to keep going in the future.

Local Black Owned Restaurants in Venice
Now that restaurants are starting to open back up again, check out these delightful spots to enjoy a meal outside of your own home!
Chaz 51

Chaz 51 is tucked away just east of I-75 off of Laurel Rd on Triple Diamond Blvd. From the outside you would never expect the quality of the dishes being served! The chef has mastered the art of steakhouse cuisine but serves it at a price that is reasonable for the average family. He also offers several specials throughout the year to make the value even greater. For me, it’s the small personal touches like little chalkboards handwritten with well-wishes for special occasions when you make a reservation in advance or taking the time to write in chocolate on the dessert plate for celebrations. When you’re here, you feel like family.
Suncoast Cafe

Another hidden gem, Suncoast Cafe is located inside the Venice Airport. Originally from the beautiful island of St. Lucia, Chef Tony serves up all the classic breakfast dishes and then at lunch time, the Caribbean flair comes out full force. Alongside this delicious breakfast menu, Suncoast offers their own personal coffee blend from Venetian Coffee Roasters, this may just be my favorite cup of coffee for breakfast in Venice.
Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck
While new to Venice Island, Auntie Anne’s is a recognizable brand to so many for their delicious sweet and savory pretzel combinations. Locally owned and operated, this food truck is parked next to the Chamber of Commerce across from the Venice hospital. They are open from 11 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. They frequently offer specials such as buy 2 get 1 free, be sure to follow them on Facebook for all their current deals and specials!
